1About these terms

These terms apply when you use dogshowsonline.com (“the site”), run by Dog Shows Online (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or entering a show you agree to these terms.

How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy notice.

2What we do, and what the organiser does

We provide an online system for entering dog shows. We do not organise the shows listed on the site. Each show is run by a club or society (“the organiser”) under its own show rules and the rules of the relevant national kennel club and the FCI.

When you enter a show, your entry contract is with the organiser. We act as the organiser’s agent: we take your entry, collect the entry fee on the organiser’s behalf and pass both to the organiser. Paying us counts as paying the organiser.

The organiser decides whether to accept your entry, runs the show, appoints and may replace judges, and is responsible for the venue, the schedule, the catalogue and results.

3Your account

  • You must be at least 16 to create an account. Younger exhibitors should be entered through a parent’s or guardian’s account.
  • Keep access to your email secure, because it is how you sign in. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You are responsible for entries made from your account.
  • You can close your account at any time by writing to us. Records we must keep by law are kept as described in the privacy notice.

4Your dogs and documents

You must give correct details for each dog, including its date of birth, breed, sex and registration numbers. Only enter dogs you own or co-own, or that you are authorised to enter by the owner.

Documents you upload must be genuine copies. By uploading them, you allow us to store them and share them with the organisers of shows you enter with that dog.

5Entering a show

The site works out your dog’s age on the first day of the show and only offers classes it can enter. This check is based on the details you give us and is there to help. It does not replace the show rules, and the organiser and the judge keep the final decision on eligibility.

Your entry is complete when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation. Entries close at the date and time shown on the show page, in the time zone shown.

You must follow the organiser’s show rules and the applicable kennel club rules, including rules on vaccination, animal welfare and conduct at the show.

6Prices and payment

Entry fees are set by the organiser and shown on each show page. Many shows use price tiers: the price you pay is the one in force at the moment you pay, not when you started the entry. Any service fee we charge is shown before you pay.

Payment is by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay and is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number. Prices are in the currency of the show; your bank may charge for currency conversion.

7Changes, withdrawals and refunds

Whether you can change or withdraw an entry, and whether you get money back, depends on the organiser’s show rules, which are shown on the show page. Show entries are for a leisure service on a specific date, so the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to them.

If a show is cancelled or moved, the organiser decides on refunds. Where a refund is due, we return the money to your original payment method once the organiser instructs us.

If you were charged by mistake, for example twice for the same entry, contact us at hello@dogshowsonline.com and we will put it right.

8If you list a show

Clubs listing a show agree separately with us on fees and payouts. In addition, organisers must:

  • be entitled to hold the show and describe it accurately, including its type, dates, venue, classes, judges, fees and rules;
  • keep the show page up to date and tell exhibitors about significant changes;
  • use exhibitor data only to run the show and meet kennel club obligations, in line with data protection law;
  • honour entries taken through the site and handle refunds under their published rules.

9Acceptable use

  • Don’t give false information, use someone else’s account or upload documents that aren’t genuine.
  • Don’t try to break, overload or get around the security of the site, or scrape it in bulk.
  • Don’t use the site for anything unlawful.

10Content and intellectual property

The site, its design and its software belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of what you upload, and give us permission to use it only to run the service. Show information is provided by organisers, and we are not responsible for its accuracy.

11Availability and liability

We work to keep the site running, but we can’t promise it will always be available. Please don’t leave your entry to the last minute before a closing date.

We are not responsible for how a show is run, for judging decisions, or for anything that happens at a show. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live are not affected.

12Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example after fraud or repeated false information. Where it’s reasonable, we will tell you why first. Entries already paid for a show will be handled with the organiser.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to an entry is the one in force when you paid. If we make significant changes, we will tell account holders by email before they take effect.

14Law and disputes

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in the courts there. Please contact us first, since most problems can be solved quickly.
