1Who we are
Dog Shows Online (“we”, “us”) runs dogshowsonline.com, a website where exhibitors enter dog shows and pay entry fees, and where clubs list their shows and receive entries. We are independent of any kennel club.
For your account, your saved dogs and the running of this website, we are the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at hello@dogshowsonline.com.
When you enter a show, the club or society organising that show (“the organiser”) receives your entry and uses it to run the show. The organiser is a separate controller for that use and has its own privacy obligations.
2What we collect
Your account
- Email address, used to sign in with a one-time link or code.
- Your name, and optionally your address, phone number and country, which organisers usually need for the catalogue.
Your dogs
- Name, breed, sex, date of birth, microchip and pedigree numbers, titles, sire, dam, breeder and co-owners.
- Documents you upload, such as a pedigree, champion certificate or working certificate.
Your entries
- Which show, dog and class you entered, extras you bought, the amount paid and the payment status.
Payments
Payments are made through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded, the amount and, for your receipt, the card brand and last four digits.
Technical data
- Server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request), kept briefly for security and to fix errors.
- Anonymous page-view statistics from Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or identify you across sites.
If you run a show
The names and contact details of the people at the club who manage the show, and the club’s payout details held by Stripe.

5Transfers outside the EU
Some providers above process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
6How long we keep it
- Account and saved dogs: until you delete them or close your account.
- Uploaded documents: until you remove them or delete the dog. Copies the organiser received with an entry are kept under the organiser’s own policy.
- Entries and payment records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which depending on the country can be up to 10 years after the show. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
- Server logs: a short period, normally no more than 30 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.
- Show organiser contacts: while the club uses the service, and then as long as needed for records of past shows.
8Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected (you can edit most of it yourself in your account);
- have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email hello@dogshowsonline.com from the address on your account. We will reply within one month. For data an organiser received with your entry, you can also contact the organiser directly.
You can complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to sort out any concern first.
9Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your dogs, documents and entries is restricted to you, to the organisers of shows you have entered, and to a small number of our staff who need it to support you. Documents are stored privately and are not publicly reachable.
10Children
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Junior handlers under 16 should be entered through a parent’s or guardian’s account.
11Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also tell you by email. See also our terms of use.
